Cancer is ravaging the African American community. This disease has taken the lives of many pillars of our community. Due to this fact, the community has a paralyzing fear of cancer. The National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer implements creative and innovative activities to bring cancer information to the community. Many of these activities carry messages of Hope. The truth is, because of advancement in medicine, thousands of people are surviving cancer than ever before. We need to get the message to the African American community to raise Hope. With Hope, the community can be encouraged to get screened, catch cancer early and get treated quickly. These are the ways to stop this disease from taking lives.
